Cave Life

Caves are so cool.
I'd like to believe this sort of stuff occurs within them...

Get a Wig

As David Beckham, Claudia Schiffer, Cheryl Cole and many other famous faces have informed us over the years...
IT'S ALL IN THE HAIR.

The yeasty love

If possible, I would love to take a Marmite bath. I would also love to keep a jar in my bag for those emergencies when a Marmite hater has denied me the tasty condiment. This thick yeasty wonderment fills up a large proportion of my annual food consumption - It tastes so good and can be enjoyed at anytime of the day. Cheese and Marmite combined = tastebud love and tenderness.
Yes I do love the stuff.
So, of course I have created illustrations based on my favourite condiment. Unfortunately this piece features a Marmite anti-lover...I believe I had to portray both sides of the Marmite story.

A cupboard without a jar of Marmite is a very sad cupboard indeed.

Happy Birthday D.I.E

Tonight will mark the 1 year "birthday" of my Leeds clubnight, D.I.E
The year has been excellent for D.I.E and tonight is looking to be a big night full of fun, dirty dancing, sweet beats, cakes, drinks and partytime in true celebration and style!

D.I.E has mounted up a fair few designs for promo in the past year. I decided to follow an illustrative path for each of the designs - to add my individual style to my individual musical mix.
Although, for the most recent D.I.E design, I decided to break away from the typical D.I.E style by creating a part illustrated, part collaged piece. The final A2/A6 printed versions of this looked really nice.
However, I don't believe I'll be able to top the original D.I.E design...continueously seeing the original D.I.E face posted around all the shops, down alleys, stapled to trees, taped to lamposts and stamped all over Leeds is why it'll always remain my favourite!

Oh and here's a little extra!...I completely forgot about this badboy. Just dug it out of a pile of old illustrations. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to us!

Slamming down big beats on a vast collection of original tracks and remixes, IOB is busting his way through the ranks and becoming recognised as a true electronic boy-wonder in the game.
Having a close relationship with Inside Out Boy (he's me bravaa) has allowed me to work on a number of illustrations and artwork for his music.

Vogue

This months Don't Panic "Design The Poster" competition has asked for a 'Vogue' themed design.

Whilst flicking through one of my sketchbooks to gain inspiration for a new piece for this poster comp, I came across an illustration I produced a few months ago, which I thought would be a fitting piece in terms of my interpretation of 'Vogue'.

To give my design a vote or any feedback follow this link HERE.

With a face like that you'll never make it huge.

Around The World In 80 Days

Recently, I was handed a "Travelling Moleskine book". In this project, a number of Moleskine sketch books have been unleashed to the world by the team-up of The Culture Vulture & The Big Draw.

These books will be 'travelling around the world for 80 days' and once returned will be displayed at a big arts party/exhibition to raise money for 'The Campaign For Drawing'.

Each of the books have been set a different theme - with this theme, individuals can interpret it in anyway they choose to and express creative ideas through drawing, sketching, stitching, etching, composing poetry etc.

The theme my Moleskine carried was "
Super Hero/Powers".
I had a number of different ideas for the illustration of my super-powered-up character. Eventually, I decided to create a Super-being with the power of The Poison Pipes!... as opposed to the more obvious and relevant choice of Michael Palin. Mr Palin has many a power under his belt but would never be able match up to The Wrath Of The Poison Pipes!
